The City of Avenal Police Department serves the community by protecting citizens and property, preventing crime, enforcing laws, and maintaining order. Our department's main goal is to contribute to the quality of life in Avenal.
 
The Avenal Police Department is comprised of 16 sworn police officers that cover the residential, commercial and industrial areas within the City Limits.

The mission of the Avenal Police Department is to provide our community with the finest law enforcement service possible in order to ensure all citizens have the opportunity to pursue a higher quality of life. We are a professional agency committed to treating every citizen with courtesy, respect and impartial enforcement of the law. Every Avenal Police Officer is a leader who constantly strives to demonstrate courage in the face of adversity. We work in partnership with our citizens to enhance the progress of the community and instill pride in the City. Together, as a team, we strive to eradicate criminal activity in our community and vow to never rest until justice has visited those who would harm our citizens.
